London firms have raised more than £130,000 for national charity UK Youth at a high profile event in association with UPS and supported by their president Nigel Mansell CBE
Banks, legal firms, asset managers and consultancies rallied to support the charity’s sixth Annual Gala Dinner at Boisdale of Canary Wharf for 200 guests.
Throughout the evening guests heard about the challenges facing our young people today and the role they can play in supporting them to build bright futures whatever their background or circumstances. The atmosphere at Boisdale was fantastic with young performers from UK Youth’s Big Music Project showcasing their work.
The main event of the evening was the auction which raised an impressive £28,000 with prizes ranging from tickets to the British Grand Prix, a box at the Royal Opera House, Bespoke Spectacles by Tom Davies and tickets in the Directors Box at Chelsea.
Founded in 1911, UK Youth is the largest national body for the youth sector, providing young people aged 9 – 25 with high quality services, delivered through a network of locally accessible youth organisations across the UK. Through this unique model, UK Youth offers support, advice and training to over 830,000 young people to equip them with vital life skills and help them engage in education, volunteering and employment.
The money raised at the Gala Dinner will help UK Youth work towards realising their mission of providing access to appropriate, high quality services for young people in every community so that all young people are empowered to build bright futures, regardless of their background or circumstances.
